Description

The only notable whitewater section (Class ll), Owassee Rapid, is located 3 miles from the put-in at Ansonia. At normal levels, this can be run in a 17' canoe if one has some whitewater experience. The rapid can be scouted and portaged on a gravel bar on river left and is also marked by signs upriver.
