Deadmond's Ferry Landing provides boat access to the McKenzie River near Springfield, making it a convenient launch point for paddlers and boaters exploring this popular central Oregon waterway. Note that motorized boats (except rescue craft) are not permitted in the mainstem river above the Goodpasture Covered Bridge, so check current regulations before launching.
The McKenzie River in this area offers diverse paddling opportunities ranging from Class II to Class III+ whitewater, with recommended trip distances of around 13 miles that can be completed in one to three days. Water flows typically range from 600 to 6,000 CFS, making the river suitable for kayaks and canoes across a variety of conditions.
