Friends Landing

Friends Landing provides boat ramp access to the Chehalis River in Montesano, with two launches serving both the river and adjacent Lake Quigg. The facility features a concrete floating pier, covered fish shelters, and picnic areas. Note that the ramp has a steep angle due to tidal fluctuations, so plan your launch timing accordingly—the area experiences approximately one-foot tidal range. A backstop at the ramp helps prevent accidental boat launches.

This location serves as a gateway to the lower Chehalis River and offers access to the Grays Harbor Navigation Channel. The site is well-developed with parking, restrooms with shower facilities, and RV/tent camping available for those planning extended trips. Nearby, Lake Quigg offers calmer water with multiple piers and docks for fishing or wildlife viewing. The area borders the Grays Harbor National Wildlife Refuge, making it an excellent base for exploring both river and estuary paddling opportunities.
