Lloyd Knox Waterboard Park sits along Leaburg Lake on the McKenzie River, approximately 22 miles east of Springfield near Leaburg. The park offers free access with multiple boat ramps for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats onto the scenic reservoir created by the EWEB dam. This location provides an excellent starting point for exploring the McKenzie River Corridor, a lush, cool waterway known for its fish and wildlife populations.
The 50-acre park is well-equipped for a full day of recreation. In addition to boat ramps, amenities include a wheelchair-accessible floating dock, a lakeside trail, over 150 picnic tables with free electric stovetops, a sand volleyball court, and hiking trail access. The calmer lake conditions here make it suitable for paddlers of all skill levels. To reach the park, take Exit 194A on Interstate 5, head east on Interstate 105, then turn left onto Highway 126 (McKenzie River Highway). The park entrance is on the right between mileposts 24 and 25, just over the EWEB dam. Note that vehicle access to nearby Trail Bridge Reservoir and Lakes End campground remains closed through 2025 for facility upgrades, though the McKenzie River Trail and most other recreational areas remain open.
