The Medomak River boat ramp in Waldoboro provides public access to this 40-mile tidal river in Lincoln County. The Waldoboro Town Landing features a blacktop boat ramp with ample parking in a spacious lot, located on Pine Street along the west bank of the river. This is a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats exploring the lower Medomak River estuary.
The Medomak River winds through Maine's midcoast region, with the tidal estuary beginning in Waldoboro where you'll launch. From here, paddlers can explore the scenic river system heading toward the coast. The area offers proximity to notable recreation destinations, including Franklin Island National Wildlife Refuge (home to a historic lighthouse completed in 1808) and Frances Perkins National Monument, making it an excellent hub for a day of paddling combined with cultural or wildlife exploration.
