The North Fork boat ramp provides access to the Salmon River, a major waterway (Stream Order 8) with substantial flow averaging over 13,000 cubic feet per second. Located in Lemhi County near North Fork, ID, this ramp serves as a gateway to the 47-mile corridor between I-93 North and the Corn Creek Launch Site leading to the Frank Church–River of No Return Wilderness. Recent improvements have been completed at this access site, including ramp and bank repairs.
Paddlers and boaters should be aware that the Salmon River features a significant average gradient of 23.1 feet per mile with an average velocity of 5.22 feet per second, making this an active, moving river suitable for experienced boaters.
