About This Access Site
**Location & Access**
Porter Bridge is a public boat launch located in Elma, Grays Harbor County, on the Chehalis River at river mile 33.3, just west of the town of Porter. The ramp sits on the left bank downstream from the bridge pier and provides convenient access to the Chehalis River for paddlers and motorboats heading upstream or downstream.

**Facilities & Launch Conditions**
This launch features a dedicated loading area where boats can be nosed into shore just downstream from the actual ramp, making it relatively user-friendly for kayakers and canoeists launching or loading gear. The site provides direct access to the main Chehalis River channel. Nearby Black River access (approximately 2.5 miles downstream via Highway 12) offers an alternative launch point if conditions warrant.

**Trip Planning**
Paddlers should note that this mid-river access point places them in the lower Chehalis River watershed in the Coast Ranges region. Check current water conditions and flow levels before launching, as this will affect paddling difficulty and safety. The ramp is managed by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW).
