About This Access Site
The Powerhouse boat ramp provides access to the Hiwassee River in the Cherokee National Forest of southeastern Tennessee. This is a popular launch site for kayakers, canoeists, and small powerboats exploring the Hiwassee River Gorge.

The Hiwassee River is a designated National Wild and Scenic River, known for its beautiful scenery and challenging whitewater. At the Powerhouse access, the river is wider and calmer, making it a good entry point for paddlers and boaters. The ramp is located approximately 2.9 miles down Powerhouse Road from the main highway.

Nearby campgrounds like Lost Corral Horse Camp and Parksville Lake RV Campground offer accommodation options for those looking to spend time on the river. The Powerhouse ramp provides a convenient launch point to explore this scenic section of the Hiwassee, whether you're fishing, paddling, or enjoying a day on the water.
