About This Access Site
This primitive boat ramp in Zapata County provides access to the Rio Grande and is located approximately halfway along the Rio Grande Reservoir. The site features a basic concrete or gravel ramp suitable for smaller watercraft, including kayaks and canoes. A vault toilet is available on-site, and there is a gravel parking area for boat trailers. **Note:** This ramp is not recommended for large boats or long trailers due to its primitive nature and limited facilities.

Paddlers should be aware that motorized boats are permitted on this portion of the reservoir. The site is best accessed from US 83 heading north toward Zapata. Water levels can vary seasonally, so checking conditions before your trip is advisable. This access point works well for those launching smaller paddle craft or fishing boats seeking a quieter, less-developed alternative to larger regional facilities.
