About This Access Site
The Salmon Hatchery access site provides year-round public boat launch access to the Sol Duc River near Beaver in Clallam County. Located at river mile 29.5, this WDFW-managed facility features a dedicated parking lot with ADA-accessible parking and is positioned in the lower section of the river where multiple access points serve paddlers and anglers. The site offers over 2,600 feet of river frontage, making it suitable for both launching and retrieving vessels.

The Sol Duc River at this location supports excellent fishing opportunities year-round, including salmon, steelhead, and trout depending on the season. Paddlers should note that this is one of several access points in the lower river corridor; Maxfield Road (river mile 22.8) and other WDFW sites provide additional launch options downstream. The Salmon Hatchery site is conveniently located near Klahowya Campground and Camp Creek Olympic Discovery Trailhead for those planning multi-day trips or extended recreation in the area.
