Description
Slippery Pete is a technical Class IV rapid in the Narrows section with a tight, boulder-choked entry that demands precise boat positioning and quick maneuvering. The rapid features a series of diagonal hydraulics and sharp-edged rocks that can easily flip an unprepared boat, with the crux move requiring paddlers to thread a narrow slot between two large mid-stream boulders while avoiding a powerful recirculating hole on river right.
