About This Access Site
The Bath North boat ramp is located on Bowery Street in Bath's North End and provides convenient access to the Kennebec River and Merrymeeting Bay. This facility features a cement boat ramp and a large parking lot, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The ramp opens 1/2 hour before sunrise and closes 1/2 hour after sunset. From this launch point, paddlers can access both the upper and lower portions of the Kennebec River, as well as the Androscoggin River where it flows into Merrymeeting Bay.

The Bath area offers excellent recreational opportunities for water-based activities. The nearby Maine Maritime Museum welcomes water arrivals, and Pond Island National Wildlife Refuge—home to an historic lighthouse established in 1821—is accessible from this location. The Frances Perkins National Monument is also nearby for those interested in exploring the region's cultural history. Whether you're planning a day paddle or an extended river trip, this North End facility provides reliable all-tide access to the scenic Kennebec River system.
