**Location & Access:** Located near Cascade, Idaho, this riverside access point is situated on the downstream left side of the bridge accessed via Cabarton Road (turn west at Highway 55 mile 106.9). Parking is limited at this site, so arrive early during peak paddling seasons.
**Practical Information:** The North Fork Payette River in this area flows through scenic National Forest terrain with flows augmented by Cascade and Deadwood Reservoirs, which helps extend the boating season into fall. This is a Federal Fee Site—daily permits or seasonal passes are required for parking. The typical takeout for paddlers launching here is Smiths Ferry downstream. Note that launching facilities along the Upper Main Payette can be challenging; expect swift currents and potentially steep approaches. Cold Springs Campground (Boise NF) is available nearby for overnight trips.
**Conditions:** Water levels and access quality vary seasonally. Check current conditions and permit requirements before your trip, and be prepared for the river's whitewater character in this section.
