Description

Just before Halls Creek enters on the right, 0.6 miles downriver from the end of the LaSalle Gorge Rapids is a minor ledge that is mostly submerged in the backwaters of the Pine Dam and quiet.  However, at flows over 1500 cfs, a 1-2 foot high, river-wide, standing wave-train will develop.  Also submerged beneath impounded waters are 4 more minor ledges above and below the entrance of Halls Creek, then starting about 300 feet above the dam, the submerged river bed starts a 15-foot descent over bedrock that continues below the dam as rapids in the river’s approach to Breakwater Falls.
