Description
The Low-Head Dam on Cherokee Creek presents an extreme drowning hazard with a powerful hydraulic that can trap boats and swimmers in a deadly recirculating current. Paddlers must absolutely portage around this structure, as attempting to run or swim through the dam can result in fatal entrapment due to the uniform, keeper-like hydraulic that spans the entire river width.
