Miller Island offers the only public boat launch between Klamath Falls and Keno, spanning approximately 20 river miles. This access point on the Klamath River is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboat operators looking to explore this major river system. The site features a concrete boat ramp, ample parking, and a wheelchair-accessible vault toilet facility.
The Klamath River at this location is a significant waterway with substantial flow—averaging over 18,000 cubic feet per second—and a moderate gradient of 15.9 feet per mile. Paddlers should be prepared for current and be aware that this major river (classified as Stream Order 9) requires appropriate skill and equipment. The river offers 255 miles of paddling to the ocean, though water conditions and any dam structures should be checked before launching.
Beyond boating, Miller Island provides access to excellent recreational opportunities in the Klamath Basin, one of the nation's premier birding destinations.
